My internet was down a big portion of the day yesterday, so I forgot to post.
Our friends, Brad and Amy, invited us to the Angels' game Monday night. The Angels lost miserably, but we missed the complete massacre since we left earily to get frozen yogurt. It was a fun evening, and it was free hat night, so bonus.

Cambria Sage McMichael's Baby Shower
Yesterday we went to our friends', Dave and Amy's, baby shower. Amy is due in the beginning of June. The shower was fun; there was even a bounce house for the kids attending and of course me (see below).
Here's a pic of Dave, Amy, Sherri and myself.

Opera Pacific Opera Ball
My folks invited Sherri and me to Opera Pacific's 25th Anniversary Celebration Opera Ball. It was very fun. There was a full orchestra playing while we ate, and live performances throughout the evening. It was kind of strange because everything was so pink; it kind of seemed like a prom because of it. However, the evening in general and the music specifically was amazing. What was also cool about the evening is, just by happenstance, my parents are playing host to one of the performers (Shana Blake Hill, Soprano). She has been their house guest for about a week, so we got to meet one of the singers after the main performance of the evening.
Here's my parents, cutting a rug.
They were having a raffle of sorts. They were selling 200 Tiffany boxes and 199 of them were nice crystal boxes, but one of them was porcelain. If you got the porcelain one, then you won a $17,500 Tiffany's bracelet. My dad was generous enough to buy both my mom and Sherri each a box. No bracelet, but the box is nice. Here's Sherri before the box was opened.

Here's a picture of Sherri and me all dolled up. I think, besides weddings, this is the first time we have gone to a black tie affair since we've been married. It was fun dressing up and having an evening on the town.

Visit from friends and Sedar
It has been pretty busy for me lately. I mentioned below I'm having trouble with my picture hard drive, but that cleared up (I had backed it up on DVD and just reloaded a formated drive). Now my music hard drive crashed, so I have to load all my music back onto my drive. It will take months. Oh well. I'm glad I have the CDs. When I can afford it I will get a backup drive for my music drive, just in case it crashes again.
Yesterday, Angel and her two daughters came to visit. I always like Angel's visits and I hope Sherri and I can visit her soon up in Vegas. Here's a pic of Sherri and Angel yesterday morning.
Then last night we went to friends of the family passover sedar. It was nice. I missed the Duck's hockey game, and of course they lost, so no big deal, and I had mucho amounts of parsely which I like. So it was a good evening.

Popcorn!
I made this popcorn today. Sherri wasn't home, and I needed something. Then while the popcorn was popping, I decided that something needed to be on it. I thought about the popcorn balls that I have had and thought that would be good. I tried to figure out how to make popcorn balls and decided that it must be the same thing as a rice crispy treat except popcorn substituted for rice crispies.
Then while I was making the marshmallow stuff I decided that it could use chocolate. When I went to the cupboard for the chocolate I found toffee bits too, so I threw in both toffee and chocolate into the mix.
The end result was both better than I thought it would be and not quite that good. I think I am on to something though. I think with a bit of tweaking this could be very good. Needs a thinner marshmallow layer and not sure what else.
I couldn't finish the whole thing, but I enjoyed the amount I had.

Baby Shower and Tom's Farm
We went to Kelly and Tracy's baby shower yesterday. They are both excited because there is a good chance that their baby will be released home today. Here's a picture of them opening the gifts. We filled out Bingo cards with what gifts we thought they'd get. I was the first Bingo (I used my "Free Space" space - always an advantage.)
Here's a pic of Amy, Tracy and Sherri.
Dave and Amy
I found this giant rooster! I think its feed must be laced with something; not only was it huge from the drugs, but it was very still. I could get right up to it and pose for this picture and it never moved?!?
After the baby shower, Sherri, I, Dave and Amy went to Tom's Farm, which I've never heard of before; it's outside Corona on I-15.
While we were there Amy hooked up with this random prospector; here's a pic.I found this giant rooster! I think its feed must be laced with something; not only was it huge from the drugs, but it was very still. I could get right up to it and pose for this picture and it never moved?!?
Back at the baby shower, here's Dave sampling some baby food.

New Cell Phones
Sherri and I got new cell phones last night, which seem pretty cool, but I'm getting old, because I cannot figure out how to take a picture with it!?!
I'm actually going to have to read the manual. Very annoying. It seems easy enough, because it turns into a camera, and there is a button there where every camera since forever has a button to take a picture, but sometimes I press it and it doesn't do anything; sometimes I press it and it takes a movie; and sometimes I press it and a few seconds later it takes a picture.
Anyway, maybe after I read the manual I'll understand it.
What is good is that we can now tell apart our phones. Last time we had the exact same phone, and it took a second to figure out which one was who's. Now I have the black one and Sherri has the red one.
I just have to learn how to hack these so that I can put on custom ring tones and I'll be set.

SNL
Just finished watching Christopher Walken's SNL from last night.
I love it when he hosts. Always funny. Actually, SNL in general has been very good since the writer's strike.
The monologue and Laser Cats 3D were the only skits I could find on youtube.

Laser Cats 3D was great.
In other news, my picture hard drive froze. Luckily and amazingly I made a backup on DVDs about 3 days ago. Now I need to get another drive to put the pictures back on. So no picture update for today.

Busy Day
My sister in-law was an honoree at a soroptimist luncheon.
Then the whole family got together at my folks to celebrate all the March and April birthdays. There were many: Oliver, David, Donna, Dilynn, Shira, Abby, my dad, Logan, Robin, and Robin's dog Jake.
I liked the goth type look for this outfit, but I don't think she wanted her picture taken.Sherri liked this pic.

Sherri Cooking
I forgot to ask for banana bread until we were already in bed, so, some other time.
I realized that I haven't put a picture of my arcade on the blog yet, so, here it is. I really need to make another control panel for it. I want a dedicated Q*bert controller, and some spinners.

Looking through pictures
I was looking through some pictures and came across these:This picture is from 1927. The woman on the left is my great grandmother. The woman in the middle is a friend of the family. The girl on the right is my grandmother and the boy in the middle is my great uncle.
Here's my grandparents about this time of year in 1988. I can definitly see the little girl from the top picture in this picture too.
I miss them.

Bear Valley
We went skiing this last weekend at Bear Valley. I've never heard of it before, but it was great skiing. Small mountain, but we had it pretty much to ourselves - I guess no one else has heard of it either. It's located at highway 4 and highway 207, which is funny because highway 207 is only 1.2 miles long. It must be the smallest state highway in California.
We had a ton of fun. The only downside was that it was so warm, much of the snow was slushy, but that's a small quible to be skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
