4 Weeks Old

I'm shamelessly stealing Amy's whiteboard idea. Here's Sarah at 4 weeks old. Her monthday will be April 3rd, but today is her fourth Tuesday in this world.

Few of the latest pictures

Sarah really likes just laying down. Last night she was crying and I did all sorts of positions, and finally I just put her in her crib and she stopped. For the most part though she doesn't cry (at least when I'm around.) She seems to enjoy music. I've been playing soft jazz lately and she seems calm when its playing.

This picture is for you Amy.

No Ill Effects From The Surgery

Sarah's been doing great - doing all the baby things. Yesterday one of her many cousins came over. They seem to get along just fine. :)

Sarah Surgery

Sarah had minor surgery today. As you can see in the pictures, her tongue wasn't sticking out far enough, which prevents good range of motion with the tongue, which makes it hard (read impossible) for her to breast feed. The doctor also said it might help for speech impediments, but since she isn't talking much, I'll have to take his word on that. Her tongue does stick out further though.

Surgery was so far successful. She goes back to the doctor next week for a follow-up.

More Sarah

Sarah had a doctor's appointment last Friday and then today. Just regular check up for a newborn. On Friday she weighed 6lbs even. She had the very slightest of yellow coloring (jaundice). Today she weighed 6lbs 7oz and whatever amount of jaundice there was has disappeared.
Sarah has had quite a few visitors over the first week of her life (tomorrow at 3:17pm will be officially one week). Here's some (definitely not all) of the people who have come out to see her.
Dave and Amy visited on the 4th, when Sarah was just a little girl.
I like this picture. My nephew is named after my grandfather, and Sarah is named after my grandmother, so it's kind of a reuniting.Micky came over on the 7th and brought Sarah her first teddy bear. Here's Sarah in the cradle my dad made back in 1969 and the teddy bear Micky brought. The cradle is tradition. Every baby in my family since my dad built it has used this cradle. I guesstimate about 18 babies have been in it.
Sherri's uncle does stained glass and made this for SarahYesterday, my sister came over and took about 600 shots of Sarah. She's going to make a birth announcement for us.
Her kids came in for a bit. Rhys, her oldest, was very good with Sarah. He came over to her and put his hand on her head and said, "She's so cute" in a real high voice. Then the kids played STUN Runner.I'm going to have to scrounge together all the pictures that must be floating around (that aren't on my camera). I don't have any pictures for March 5th or any pictures with Sherri's uncle with Sarah. I'll have to raid my family's various photos.
I did take this picture of Sherri and Sarah during the photo session. Later Shawn and Yadira came over to visit and meet Sarah.Sherri took this picture today.Okay, enough update for now.

Sarah Lillietta

Introducing Sherri and Scott's daughter (drumroll) Sarah Lillietta!!!
She's healthy and seems to be happy. Born yesterday, March 3, 2009 (a root day) at 3:17pm. She weighed 6lbs, 3oz and was 18.5 inches long.
Although I slept a bit last night, Sherri was only able to get perhaps 20 minutes of sleep. Currently (8:30am) Sarah is asleep in Sherri's arms. This morning Sherri was able to get about 30 minutes of sleep while I held Sarah. I know it won't get good on the sleep end of things for awhile, but hopefully it will get better soon.
Here's some picts Sherri's dad took. I forgot my connector, so my photos aren't uploadable for a while.
