Spring Training

This last weekend the gang went to baseball spring training. We saw three Angel's games and since the Ducks were in town, we saw a Ducks' game too. I'm much more into hockey than baseball, so the Ducks' game was a great reprieve for me. It was a great game and the Ducks won to boot.
Here's me stoic at the ballgame.Dave and I are ready for the REAL BIG league.

We took a tour of the Diamondbacks' stadium. It was pretty cool, especially being in the dugout and on the turf surrounding the field. The turf is really nice. I know that sounds weird, but it is soft and has a good feel to it.

This video was from our hotel elevator. It was fun going from the top (24th floor) down to the 1st floor. Amazing how fast it was. This video is 58 seconds and the elevator goes from top to bottom and then back to the 11th floor (where we stayed) all in that time.

Happy Birthdays Again!

Happy birthday to our friends Heather and Lynette! I don't have recent pictures from either of them, so here is a picture of Alex and Heather the day before Sherri and my wedding and a picture of Lynette the day after the wedding. (Heather, when we all go out for miniature golf, be prepared - I'm bringing my camera!!!) Lynette, I want some new pictures. Send a few our way.
Anyway, Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthdays!

Today is my niece Dilynn's birthday and my friend Angel's birthday. As you can see from their birthday pictures from last year, they are both found of tiaras. Just want to wish both of them a very happy birthday.

Nothing much

I went over to my brother's house and my niece was doing Karaoke. She's pretty good, even when she doesn't know the lyrics, she 'mmms' to the melody.
My sister-in-law gave me this picture from Thanksgiving 1993. My nephew, who is now 25, looks very young here. I guess my cousin and I look young too, but I still see us like this.

Today, Sherri and I went back to the doctor. We will probably start the whole process again in May, but it might start in April - it depends. We need to get some tests done, and it depends when we can get in to get those tests as to when we can start again. The doctor said that everything should be good, but tempered that positiveness with more testing. He said at our ages, the chances of IVF working is about 45-50%, so the fact that it didn't work the first time does not mean much, it was just the bad side of the coin flip. Next time it will land on the plus side.

Not much has been going on. Here's a picture from last night of Sherri playing some Wii.
Licorice is the perfect candy. Sherri hates it, so it is ALL MINE!!! HA HA HA!!!

Sherri and I in cartoon format

This caricature was made a while ago, at my nephew's first birthday. I thought it came out pretty well. The artist got my droopy eyes dead on.

Fun Game

Sherri and I got this game a couple of days ago. Besides the fact that it is fairly annoying to have the American Idol judges in it, the game is fun. It is the first Karaoke game that we have and it was great belting out Copacabana. I rocked Copacabana. For some reason Sherri was laughing through most of my excellent rendition. I know it was excellent because all three judges said I was great.

Good Show

I listened to this show last week on NPR and I liked it so much that as soon as I got home I ordered the episode on CD. Really good episode. I was very happy when I got it in my mail today. If you're interested you can also download it from the website in ipod format for $0.95 (http://thisamericanlife.org/). I'd forward it to those who want it, but the files are too big (about 50megs for 128 mp3s).
My friend Dave I know would especially like Act two.

Other than that, not much going on. I applied to quite a few places. I also went on Monster.com today and applied to some places.

It's weird, the first time I took the Bar, I thought I did okay - when I left the exam I thought I did better than okay - but as the days went by I kept remembering "oh, I forgot to put this in" or "I put the wrong law there" or things like that. I missed passing by 8 scaled points which was the equivalent of 3 multiple choice questions.
This time I felt good about the exam, and even a week afterward I can't think of any area that I really messed up on. I feel really good about the exam. Hopefully that means that I will make up those 8 points and pass this time. Of course every exam is scaled (on a curve) so if everyone did better, then I might still be out of luck. I'll have to keep crossing my fingers until May 16.

Sherri is back to work full time and we will try to start the process of having kids again as soon as we can. (That sounds like "too much information" if you didn't know we are doing in vitro) We see the doctor next week. Not sure if there will be any illumination on what happened, but I'm looking forward to asking questions.

That's about it. Hasta.
