Birthday and Halloween

Yesterday a group of us went to Claim Jumper and I had bounteous desserts for my birthday. Chocolate Chip Calzone is sooooo goooooood....mmmmmmm.
Tonight we went to Sherri's sister's house and had a little halloween party. It was a fun couple of nights. However, tonight wasn't a birthday celebration at all, so no chocolate.

Sarah's Room

Sarah's room is pretty well set. There are a few things here and there, stuff has to be put away and Sherri wants a glider to sit in, but other than that, we seem kinda ready.

Sherri's Back!

I picked Sherri up from LAX tonight. She was gone since Sunday for a work conference in Florida. When she came back she gave me a birthday present. Elliot! Pete's Dragon was one of my favorite movies growing up. I have always been obsessed with dragons. This WDCC (Walt Disney Classics Collection) piece is great. We have to find a spot for him inside the curio cabinets.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday. Didn't do much, but for dinner I went out with my family and then went back to my folk's house for dessert. As some know I gave up chocolate for a year, but I have two exceptions, my birthday and S'mores. So, chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream - mmmmm.
Sherri is still out of town for work. She'll be back Thursday night and then has the weekend off so we can celebrate my birthday.

Bachelordom

Sherri left for Florida this morning for a manager conference at work. So I'm a bachelor until Thursday when she gets back. I have already started the process by having Mac 'N' Cheese for lunch.
I did get some more nursery stuff done today. I assembled most of the new closet organizer. I still have a few drawers to put together. My main hiccup is the hanging bar. The space available between the two units is 25 1/16" and the bars that come with the organizer are 25 1/2". I'm going to have to go to my folk's tomorrow so I can cut down and drill a hole into the bar.
Other than that, the organizer was surprisingly simple to put together.

More Setup

Here's some more pictures of the nursery. Next step is putting the closet organizer in next week. Can't wait to clean up the house a bit.

Paint

The pictures don't really show the color correctly, but here is Sarah's room post paint. Sherri likes it.

Setting up Sarah's Room

Sherri and I emptied out everything from Sarah's room in order to get it painted. This is the result. Our house is cluttered with stuff everywhere. You have to be careful where you step or you might trip. Hope Sarah likes her room. :)

Old Photos

I was cleaning out the nursery closet yesterday and I had to deal with the elephant in the room, 8 boxes of photos. I wish I had time to scan them all in, but I did go through one photo album and scanned in 89 photos. Here's a few of them.

Starting to Set Up the Nursery

We have the crib and dresser in the nursery now. We haven't quite figured out where they will be going, and Sherri is still figuring out exactly how the walls will be painted, but we are moving right along. I'm sure Sarah will have her own room when she wants it.

Sarah Lillietta

We had our week 20 ultrasound today. Of course we are at week 19, but we pushed it a week ahead because we wanted to know boy or girl. Well, as I hope the name implies, IT'LL BE A GIRL! This was our first ultrasound at the new doctor, and they don't do video, so here are some pictures. Everything is healthy, and we can't wait to meet Sarah. At about week 24 we will get a "4-d" ultrasound and that will be recorded on DVD. Sounds good; the 4th dimension is time, so I'm hoping to learn all about Sarah's entire life when we have that done.

Here's her face. I'm hoping the skin will help her look a bit more human. The ultrasound mainly picks up the bones.

Night Out

I didn't want to have just an evening at home tonight, so I got a change of clothes for Sherri and met her at her work when she got off. We went to The Spectrum and had a nice dinner at the Yard House and then just walked around. I thought Amy would be interested in this picture, Sweet Lorraines Cupcake Shop. We didn't try it, we were stuffed, but maybe next time.

Some Picts

Friday night we went to temple to see my nephew in the junior choir. He's the first boy on the left with a blue shirt.
Here's some pictures I took yesterday of the kitchen:

Happy New Year!

Yesterday was the Jewish new year, Rosh Hashanah. Every year, to bring in a sweet new year, my in-laws have what they call the Sweet Table. This year Sherri made 9 desserts. I'm not sure how many desserts in total there were, but needless to say, there was plenty to go around with many left overs too.
Here's some pictures of the desserts:
