Happy Birthday to My Brother

Yesterday was my brother's birthday. We went out to Chakra's Indian Cuisine. I really liked it, but Sherri couldn't eat much (any) of it because she cannot stand even the tiniest little bit of spicy food.
Far away group shot from the waiter.
I took the flash off for this picture. I like the glow.

Duck's Game 5-3!

Sherri went out with Angel, Robin and Logan tonight, while I went to the Ducks game with Raitis, Shawn and Dave. It also just so happened, Sean and Belinda were at the game. It also also so happened my brother was at the game with his kids. It was a very fun game. With about 3 minutes left the score was 4-1, and the Blue Jackets made a last minute rally of 2 points. I didn't bring my camera, so just one picture from my phone. My brother took this picture when I went to meet him between 1st and 2nd period. My nephew (with his back to the camera) was very startled when I showed up.

More Thanksgiving

Since my nephew is visiting from Japan, and because he missed out on Thanksgiving, my brother had another Thanksgiving last night. More turkey, potatoes, stuffing, pecan pie, etc. I was again stuffed...just when I thought I was out they pull me back in.
Aaron brought these chocolates from Japan. This is a cantaloupe candy.

4D - Kinda / Holiday Shopping.

Today we had the 4D ultrasound again. Sarah was face up this time, which was good, but she was also asleep the whole time - again! We went ahead and did it and got a few nice shots, but didn't get to see much movement. She did move though, because she alternated between her hand, arm or leg blocking some or all of her face.
Anyway, she's healthy and a bit less alienish, so that's good.
After the doctor's appointment, we went to Disneyland to get my nephew his birthday present, and buy other stuff for presents. I think we only have two presents left to buy for the holiday, Kelly and Tracy's baby, David, and my nephew, Aaron, who is in from Japan for most of December.

Nursery and Kitchen Coming together (Not literally) - and other stuff

Tomorrow we try again with the 4d Ultrasound. Hopefully Sarah will be awake and active so we can get a nice DVD of her.
Earlier tonight I played softball again. Our team lost miserably. However, I was up to bat once and made a run. So yeah me.
Sherri's sister bought Sarah (and us) this glider and ottoman. It is really comfortable and I think it means the last of the nursery is done. (I might be wrong about that; Sherri will inform me if we need more stuff in there.)
Anyway, here's a picture of the ensemble.
Here's a chair side view.
They are continuing to work on the backyard at my folks house. The ambitious contractor states he can finish the whole job in 15 days - they are redoing all the hardscape, putting in a new deck, moving the pool equipment, replumbing the spa and replastering - Good Luck! The four boxes behind my mom (two tall ones, and two smaller ones stacked with that black thing on them) will make up my mom's new refrigerator. I think she said it is 5 feet wide when put together! Here's the island with the caesarstone top attached.

Kitchen / Yard

Today was a very busy day at my parents' remodel. They had one team laying the stucco on the walls. They had another team removing the stump of what was a 50'+ pine tree (this was probably the hardest of the jobs) and the final team was bringing the new island into the kitchen.
Laying the stucco
The island on the truck It took A LOT of effort to move this island. The cabinet maker that made it wanted it in one piece so there would be no double walled portions. It's more efficient for space, but it made it extremely big and hard to maneuver around corners as they brought it in.
At one point they had to remove the base from it so the rest could fit Here's the island in its final resting placeMy mom is very happy. Here's a picture of these guys splitting off bits of this stump at a time. Every once in a while they could use a chainsaw, but mostly it was just splitting off bit by bit. The stump had to be cleared today because the backyard contractor wants to start on the stairs tomorrow.
